My weekend in food! Friday night I celebrated 4th July for the first time (top right), thanks to our American intern Erica. Then Saturday was a day of functions, and it’s rude not to eat you know. First was a tombstone unveiling for a neighbours family – tombstones are often bought a few years down the line to spread the cost, and the deceased’s life is celebrated (top left). Then we went to a traditional wedding, where the bride price was paid, and the groom was presented with some fresh meat (poor sheep). And today we had some friends over to celebrate birthdays, finished exams and to debate gender roles! Have I mentioned I love food?
