2014.24 youth day

16th June is Youth Day in South Africa, to commemorate the Soweto Uprising in 1976 when students peacefully marched to protest against Afrikaans being used in black Secondary Schools.  The police used teargas, the crowds threw stones and then shots were fired and fatalities ensued.  Folk here wear school uniform to remember this day, and also hang out at the local tavern (it being a public holiday and all!).  So I borrowed some school clothes and joined in!
